After Maya, a teenager, is discovered in a sexually compromising situation, her mother decides to relocate the family back to India to instill proper discipline. Several years later, Maya returns to the United States seeking funding for her teen-focused app. To better understand her target audience, she takes a job as a substitute high school teacher. However, when the principal assigns her to teach sex education, Maya—who remains a virgin—embarks on a journey with her best friend to reclaim the high school experiences she missed.
