Ice Cube Graces the Global Premiere of the New Anaconda in Los Angeles

Ice Cube, famed for his role in the original horror hit Anaconda, has made a notable return by appearing in a cameo in Sony Pictures' fresh comedic take on the cult favorite.

The announcement of Ice Cube’s involvement was made during the global premiere held on December 13, 2025, in Los Angeles. Walking the red carpet with the film’s main cast, Ice Cube revealed that nearly 30 years later, he found himself once again amidst the Amazonian jungle, facing the legendary giant snake.

Nearly Three Decades Later: Ice Cube’s Cameo

Back in 1997, Ice Cube portrayed Danny Rich, the cameraman in the original film. This time, his role is a brief cameo, which the actor describes as a meaningful nod to the franchise’s legacy.

“It’s going to be a fun surprise for the audience to see me pop up on screen. This cameo feels like coming full circle. When I was invited and learned about the direction of the movie, I immediately said yes because it’s something fresh and exciting,” Ice Cube shared.

Filmmakers Celebrate Ice Cube’s Return

The production team considered Ice Cube’s participation a major milestone. Lead actor Paul Rudd humorously likened securing Ice Cube’s cameo to receiving a high honor.

“For us, getting Ice Cube on board was like a blessing from the Pope. You approach, kneel, kiss the ring, and he pats you on the head saying, ‘Good job, son,’” Rudd joked.

Inside the New Anaconda Film

The new Anaconda is described as a unique blend of a remake, reimagining, and spiritual sequel. The storyline follows characters played by Jack Black and Paul Rudd, who, amid a midlife crisis, decide to fulfill a childhood dream by filming their own remake of the original Anaconda.

However, their low-budget shoot in the Amazon takes a wild turn when a real giant snake threatens the set. The film is slated for a wide release on December 25, 2025.
