During World War II, off the coast of Zhoushan, China, a Japanese cargo ship transporting British prisoners of war was tragically sunk, trapping thousands of POWs inside under Japanese control. In this dire crisis, a courageous group of fishermen from Dongji Island rose to the challenge. Motivated by their deep compassion, bravery, and unwavering determination, these fishermen risked the treacherous seas to create a lifeline, offering a chance of survival to the stranded prisoners.
