Eager to build a social circle, they’re thrilled when Bernard’s charming, affluent son Stan and his sophisticated, aristocratic wife Bennie move nearby, bringing children the same age as theirs. However, this seemingly perfect new friendship soon reveals a darker side: Stan and Bennie are passionate courser enthusiasts, intent on hunting on horseback with their hounds wherever they please. This sparks turmoil. What begins as neighborly tension escalates into an all-out conflict as Stan acquires vast tracts of land, manipulates local officials, and schemes to transform the forest into an exclusive playground for the wealthy elite.
